For Your Organization

Termination Support: A Surcorp Representative can be available to provide support throughout the termination process. Initially, providing consulting and advisory services to the WSIB Human Resources team regarding managing a reduction in force (both individual or group), termination meeting best-practices, managing communication strategies for terminated staff and retained employees, providing strategies to preserve morale, as well as tactical planning to mitigate disruptiveness to business and the order to the day.

Surcorp representatives provide on-site day-of termination assistance by meeting one-on-one or in small group sessions with terminated employees to provide a face-to-face introduction of Surcorp and personally explain the nature and purpose of outplacement services. This enables exiting employees to gain a greater understanding of outplacement services and the benefits of the transition program in helping them seek re-employment. A personal meeting also enables the transitioning employee and a Surcorp Representative to begin establishing rapport and building trust to initiate an effective integration into the transition program and from that into new employment.

Intake: Based on the client’s professional level, career history, specialization and age, the employee is partnered with a Career Coach/Counsellor who best aligns with their transition needs. The first meeting is an introductory session that utilizes several assessments (vocational, skill, personality) and visioning exercises to determine employee’s inventory of skills, competencies and attributes, as well as to determine a work-search objective and job target, while frameworking longer-term career goals, entrepreneurship or retirement plans. The initial focus is on Self-Discovery, including identifying strengths, values, and goals. Improved self-knowledge allows the client to leverage their strengths, enhance self-confidence and ensure they are moving forward professionally.
